MJS live and breathe tax. They are industry-recognised experts in helping you to reduce your tax burden in a simple, professional and stress-free way.
When founder Michael Brownsdon came to us he was looking for a way to divide the services he offered into three separate offerings. This meant designing and building three individual websites, and three unique visual identities and logos, strong enough for each of these services to standout on their own.
Whilst MJS were keen to find a way to visually separate their services, the most crucial element of this project was turning these three sites into lead generation machines. When they approached us, nearly all of their work was coming from referrals alone. So from a marketing perspective, our goal was to get each of these new sites ranking well for the very specific services they’re focused on, whilst ensuring they weren’t spending budget where it wasn’t needed.
Having explored other options, Michael decided to work with us on this project due to our understanding of what he wanted to achieve as a business owner, as well as our thoughtful use of design to get him better results for the budget he had.
the strategy
Whilst splitting up their services (capital allowance, furnished holiday lets and stamp duty land tax) makes sense, three completely unique identities would not have been an affordable business solution for MJS, and quite frankly it was unnecessary.
However, building three individual websites did make sense from a digital marketing perspective. So, our suggestion was to create one versatile identity that could be adapted for each website, yet was strong enough to feel unique to anyone who came across any one of the sites for the first time.
The brands we created are unified through the squares used in the logos and throughout the identity, the chunky yet professional typography and the use of bold colour blocks across the sites, but they remain unique in their own right through the use of statement colours unique to each service.
We designed and built three websites for MJS, each fully optimised for very specific services and customer search queries. This included revisiting their customer journey and making sure each site was set up to deliver the best experience possible and convert visitors into paying clients.
The benefit to having three separate sites was the clarity of positioning. We were able to be highly specific and targeted with our messaging and copywriting, ensuring that when someone landed on any one of these sites they knew they were in the right place.
MJS are now busier than they’ve ever been, the quality of the leads coming through their site has improved dramatically and their sites already ranking well on Google for the search terms that are most valuable to them.
The ultimate goal for us was to help MJS grow, that’s what we do, so the suggestions we made were made because that’s what we’d do if it was our business. They needed a clever combination of design, digital optimisation and positioning structure that set them apart from competitors, and that’s what we gave them.
